The man suspected to have shot dead Charlie Kirk at a Utah university last week allegedly confessed in a group chat about the killing a day after the shocking incident.

Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested 33 hours after Kirk was assassinated while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University (UVU) last Wednesday.

He is being held without bail in Utah County Jail on several initial charges including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm and obstruction of justice, an officer from the jail told CNN as he awaits to be formally charged.

A huge bombshell in the investigation emerged on Monday, US time, with reports Robinson allegedly confessed to the murder in a group chat on Discord, an instant messaging platform.
