Customs and Border Protection recently announced that the fee to register for a tourist permit will go up to $30 by the end of the month. The current price is $6.
The permit itself will be valid for six months and can be obtained electronically. It can also be purchased at any of the local bridges. It will be absolutely necessary to have if you are traveling back into the United States. This specific permit is the I-94.
A Form I-94 is needed by all visitors except U.S. Citizens, returning resident aliens, aliens with immigrant visas, and most Canadian citizens visiting or in transit. Travelers will be issued an I
