Alberta Health Services issued a public alert Monday after a person infected with measles was on an Edmonton-bound flight last week.

According to the alert, the individual was on Air Canada Flight 173 from Pearson to Edmonton International Airport on Sept. 10. The flight took off at 3:44 p.m. Edmonton time, landing at 7:30 p.m.

AHS also indicates a possible exposure period at YEG from 7:30-10:15 p.m., at the domestic terminal, Gate D62 and baggage claim area.

AHS says anyone who was on the flight or present in that area of the airport, who was born in or after 1970 and has less than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, could be at risk of developing the virus.
