AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - A Windsor Elementary student is one of 102 students being nationally recognized for his extraordinary math abilities.

Amarillo ISD says John Cantu, a fourth-grade student, was selected for the 2025 National Math Stars cohort.

The program identifies and supports the development of students’ mathematical talent.

A select group of students is invited to join the cohort each year.

The district says each student receives support valued at over $100,000 over the next 10 years, including mentoring, advanced learning opportunities, and invitations to math competitions and summer camps.

Only 102 third and fourth-grade students from seven states were selected for the Math Stars cohort.
