HOBOKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- Crews are working to repair a water main break that has shut down several streets in Hoboken, New Jersey, according to city officials.
NewsCopter 7 was above the 10-inch water main break near the intersection of Madison Street and Seventh Street.
Hoboken officials say a contractor on private property struck the line Monday.
Seventh Street is closed between Jackson and Madison streets while Veolia Water NJ works on repairs.
"That was an old church. I felt pretty bad when they knocked it down. And so I said to her, Maybe it's karma for knocking down a church," Brian Frino, a Hoboken resident, said.
Just a few feet away at the same intersection, another team was trying to work on the sewage line and had to wait until the water receded to fill in the holes.
