The date that millions of households on means-tested benefits will receive a letter about a £150 energy bill discount this winter has been confirmed. Those who qualify must be named on their electricity bill to get the help.

The Warm Home Discount aims to help manage the cost of fuel by providing a reduction on household energy bills for people on certain means-tested benefits . It offers those eligible a one-off £150 discount on their electricity bill, in a bid to help households manage their fuel costs, particularly over winter.

The scheme is set to launch again in October and is applied directly to your electricity bill by your supplier - but only if you or your partner are named on the bill.
