KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Fire Department said a home in northwest Knoxville is uninhabitable after a fire Monday morning.
According to a spokesperson with KFD, crews responded to a fire in the 200 block of Clifton Road at around 8:50 a.m. There, they saw light smoke coming from the home.
KFD said crews were able to make quick entry and rapidly extinguish the fire, which began in the kitchen and was mostly contained to one room.
There was a significant amount of heat, water and smoke that damaged much of the home, leaving it in an uninhabitable condition, KFD said. Despite this, it was not a total loss.
Nine people, including four children, were living in the home and six were asleep at the time of the fire, KFD said. Everyone was able to evacuate the home without injury,
