FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Stasha Carrasquillo has spent nearly a decade helping bring adaptive sports events to Turnstone.
“It’s been a really exciting 8 years,” she said. “We’ve had a lot of activity, a lot of milestones.”
One of those upcoming milestones is hosting the 2025 World ParaVolley Sitting Volleyball World Cup. Carrasquillo said sitting volleyball is a more accessible version of the game.
“The biggest difference is, is that the net is a little bit lower because all of the athletes are sitting on the ground,” she said. “That’s one of the key pieces, actually. They cannot leave the ground when the ball is in play.”
Carrasquillo said the tournament will have 15 different countries participating.
“All the countries that are bringing teams, both men’s and women’s, are countries
