CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - A Chesterfield School Board Member’s decision to resign isn’t stopping the backlash.
Dorothy “Dot” Heffron apologized Sunday and said she will resign, days after making an insensitive social media post about the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
The post, allegedly made by Heffron on a private Instagram account, read: “Call me old fashioned, but I remember when we used to be okay with shooting Nazis.”
It received immense backlash online, leading to calls for her resignation , from others on the school board and state lawmakers, including Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
