Minnesota Vikings starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy suffered a high ankle sprain in the team’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons and will be out two-to-four weeks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. McCarthy and the Vikings face the Pittsburgh in Ireland on September 28.

If McCarthy, who has already been ruled as unlikely to play this week, does not suit up, then the Steelers will face veteran Carson Wentz . Wentz was the franchise quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles at one point, and has plenty of experience. He has spent the last few years backing up Patrick Mahomes.

The Steelers’ schedule is suddenly riddled with backup quarterbacks across the schedule. For the Cincinnati Bengals, the Steelers will see backup Jake Browning twice. Meanwhile, they get McCarthy in Week 4.
