ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Albuquerque Bilingual Academy confirmed a part-time substitute teacher has been terminated after being arrested on campus.
Federico Chacon, 52, was charged after police investigated a child sexual abuse case in northwest Albuquerque. The alleged victim was described as a 15-year-old female in court documents.

The sexual assault investigation led to Chacon being arrested at ABA on Thursday, Sept. 11. He is charged with criminal sexual penetration of a minor.
The school said law enforcement asked to see Chacon, who was described as being a teacher at the school for about a month. It also stated all employees, including Chacon, had to pass required background, fingerprint and reference checks before employment.
