YANCEY COUNTY, N.C. —
A popular 26-mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway has reopened for the first time since Hurricane Helene, allowing visitors to reach the highest peak in mainland North America east of the Mississippi River once again.
On Monday, the National Park Service announced completion of two landslide repair projects at milepost 375 and 380, which allow a 26-mile section (milepost 382 in Asheville to milepost 355.3 at the Ridge Junction Overlook) of the parkway to reopen. Latest Forecast
