BEAUMONT, Texas — The City of Beaumont is highlighting inclusivity this Hispanic Heritage Month by showcasing its website’s ability to translate into more than 100 languages, including Spanish and several indigenous dialects.

While the feature has been available for two years, the city posted a video in Spanish last Friday to spread awareness of the tool and demonstrate how it works.

“Understanding that we have a very diverse community and have important information to share with them, we were able to engage in a program that will translate our city website to a multitude of language,” said Amalia Villarreal, the city’s director of public works.
