LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Racing Louisville midfielder Savannah DeMelo continues to recover after suffering a medical incident during a game.

According to the club, DeMelo experienced a medical emergency on the field as Racing Louisville played the Seattle Reign in Seattle Sunday night.

She received immediate care from medical personnel and was stable and alert after the incident.

Racing Louisville confirmed DeMelo was “awake and in good spirits” at a Seattle hospital with her friends and family by her side. She is still undergoing tests to determine what happened.

"I’m lucky to have my family with me while I’m waiting for test results to come back," DeMelo said in a statement. "I'm extremely thankful to our whole medical staff for the quick response. They've been with me every step of the way
