Spirit Halloween has opened its seasonal costume shop across Northwest Indiana and the south suburbs, ushering in the spooky season.

The New Jersey-based retailer is opening 1,500 stores across North America. This year, it's opened stores in some of the Region's highest-profile retail hubs, including the Southlake Mall in Hobart, the Porter's Vale outdoor mall in Valparaiso and the Highland Grove Shopping Center at the border of Highland and Schererville.

Spirit Halloween sells a variety of Halloween costumes, decor and yard decorations, such as the Styrofoam tombstones that give lawns the appearance of a cemetery. It's known for its elaborate in-store displays, including scenes of evil clowns at haunted circuses.
