JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —

The man accused in a deadly multi-county crime spree has been convicted and sentenced to death.

A trial was held for Daniel Watson and a Jefferson County jury Monday convicted him of capital murder.

Watson is accused of two double murders, 45 minutes apart. In March 2023, he confessed to killing Jason Brown and Tiffany Hernandez in Birmingham's East Lake neighborhood.

Then, he claimed he drove to St Clair County’s Ragland community and gunned down Amber Manning and Timothy Davidson.

The Jefferson County jury on Sept. 15, agreed by a vote of 11-1 to a sentence of death for Watson.

The judge agreed and confirmed the death sentence for Watson.
