INDIANAPOLIS— Longbottom Bird Rescue visited a local brewery, Guggman Haus, on Sunday.

Longbottom Bird Rescue started in 2019 but became an official 501(c)(3) domestic waterfowl rescue in 2024. Since then, the organization has rescued over 175 domesticated ducks.

The event was part of the rescue's weekly tour of breweries in the region to raise awareness about the plight of domestic ducks. While the rescue is based out of Cincinnati, Ohio, its members frequently visit Indiana and Kentucky, taking in abandoned domestic ducks.

"We go to any city where we are called to rescue, where there isn't a local resource," Executive Director James Longbottom said in an interview with FOX59/CBS4.
