The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday the arrest of a suspect in a May homicide near Chimney Road in Sun Valley.

Detectives arrested Tyler Dollard, 33, on Sept. 15 in connection with the death of Carlos Cardenas, 40, whose body was found May 25 near the dirt extension of Chimney Road. The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.

Dollard was taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon and destroying or concealing evidence.

The sheriff’s office said no other suspects are outstanding. The investigation remains ongoing.
