JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — A portion of North Lincoln Avenue in Jerome was shut down on Monday afternoon following a waterline break. The road is closed indefinitely from East Main Street to 2nd Avenue East.
The City of Jerome advises drivers to seek alternate routes. Public works crews are digging up a portion of the sidewalk parallel to 1st Avenue East.
City officials on scene said they won’t be able to assess the damage until they can pump out water. While the exact cause is unknown, city officials said it may have been a company hitting a bore machine while digging.
The city does not have an estimate for how long the road closure may be or how long repairs will take.
This is a developing story; KMVT will provide updates as they come in.
