BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier traded the football field for hospital halls Monday morning, bringing hope and encouragement to young patients at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital.

Families gathered with excitement as Nussmeier visited, signed autographs, and posed for photos, making sure each child felt like the star of the day.

“It’s our job, you know, as God’s children, we’re supposed to always give back,” Nussmeier said. “So, any opportunity I have to give back I’m more than willing. I’m very grateful for this opportunity.”

The quarterback also delivered special LSU-themed headphones to patients, a gift supported by the hospital and the Tigers football team. “Just to be able to come out here and give a couple of those pairs to some kids
