FORT POLK, La. (KALB) - A Vernon Parish school bus was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Louisiana Avenue at Fort Polk.

According to the details shared by the installation on Facebook , some of the children sustained injuries and were either treated on the scene or transported to local hospitals for further evaluation.

The driver of the other vehicle was airlifted for further medical care.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
