Toronto Police are investigating after a small plane crashed Monday night near Monarch Park Collegiate Institute.

Police said on social media that they received reports just after 8:15 p.m. saying that a plane had crashed in a field in the Felstead-Greenwood Aves. area with three occupants on board.

They said there were no reports of injuries so far and Transport Canada has been notified of the crash.

Toronto Fire told CTV Toronto that paramedics at the scene reported smelling gas and fuel and that its hazmat team was responding to address the issue.

The outlet reported that the airplane appears to be a four-seat 140 Piper Cherokee.
