KILGORE, Texas (KETK)-- Kilgore College celebrated 90 years in education on Monday morning with a ceremony at the pedestrian bridge on campus.

In 1935, Kilgore College opened its doors with one mission: "Bringing accessible local education to East Texans." Now, in 2025, it serves nearly 8,000 students.

On Monday, Kilgore faculty, students and community members gathered to celebrate the college's rich history. Celebrations featured remarks from past college presidents, who have shaped the institution and Kilgore mayor Ronnie Spradlin, who shared his personal history to the campus.
