Will Rajecki made Cherokee County history on Friday night, scoring seven touchdowns and leading Sequoyah to the highest-scoring game in its 36 years of existence.
Rajecki and the Chiefs (5-0) demolished Sprayberry (4-1) 63-20 at Skip Pope Stadium, avenging their lone regular-season loss and Region 6AAAAA championship-deciding game from 2024.
Sequoyah’s star running back had three touchdowns at halftime, but as he continued to cross the goal line in the third and fourth quarters, the only thing on his mind was a notch in the win column.
“I had no idea,” Rajecki said, referring to if he knew he was approaching a record-breaking night. “I was just thinking about winning this game and winning this region.”
