The northern lights dazzled the New Hampshire sky, and one lucky person captured the beauty on video.
Landscape and weather photographer Rob Wright captured the event in time-lapse footage taken over 49 minutes in Alton, about 40 miles northeast of Manchester, New Hampshire.
"A somewhat unexpected aurora last night from a stream of high-speed solar wind turned a regular Sunday night into an aurora hunting adventure up to Alton Bay until 1 AM," Wright wrote in a Sept. 15 Facebook post.
U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data showed the geomagnetic storm that caused the northern lights measured near a Planetary K-index of 7 , or an "active aurora."
