CLAIRTON, Pa. —

Students, parents, and staff rallied outside of the Clairton Education Center Monday evening ahead of the Clairton City School Board meeting.

They were there to speak out against the district’s decision to end school bus services for charter school students. Advertisement

“When I heard that this was going on, I felt like I was being bamboozled. I couldn’t believe that this was actually happening, that this was even a thing,” said Deonna Jackson, a parent of two kindergarten students at Propel McKeesport.

Roughly 118 Propel students and Young Scholars of Greater Allegheny rely on Clairton City School District for transportation to and from school. Clairton announced to families that school buses will no longer be provided starting Oct. 6.
