AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - LuJames Groover was awarded the Texas League Batting Champion title after leading all batters with a batting average of .309 through the regular season.

The third baseman has been a solid part of the lineup since April, recording 470 at-bats in 123 games, leading the team in hits, runs, walks, and OBP.

He finishes the regular season with 73 runs, 145 hits, 56 RBIs, and 12 home runs.

The Sod Poodles will be back in action Tuesday for game one of the divisional series against Midland at HODGETOWN after securing their spot in the playoffs by winning the second half of the season. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. CST.
