BIRMINGHAM, Ala (WIAT) -- Late renowned chef Michael Glenn is being remembered for using his cuisine to affect lives.
Glenn founded Creative Catering by Ambrosia and Ga Briella’s Bistro and Art Gallery. Glenn died at 66 over the weekend.
“One of the dishes he made was fried grouper, black eye peas, just down right soul food,” Dennis Simmons said.
Simmons works in the building next to Glenn’s restaurant in Birmingham’s historic Fourth Avenue Black Business District. Simmons and Glenn, however, were more than business neighbors. They were friends.
“He was dedicated to his craft, and he always wanted things perfect," Simmons said. "Just an all-around great guy. He had a clam spirit, but in his quietness, he was very loud.”
