A Plymouth primary school is taking centre stage in a government-backed drive to improve pupil attendance and behaviour across the country.

Marine Academy Primary has been announced as one of just 21 schools in England to lead the Department for Education ’s new Attendance and Behaviour Hubs programme. It will provide tailored support to schools with the highest need, helping to build safer and more supportive classroom environments.

The new role will see Marine Academy Primary and Exeter’s St James School — both part of the Ted Wragg Trust — deliver one-to-one support for school leaders, run best-practice events and help drive up standards across the sector.
