Punctured bin bags and rotting furniture are scattered around the derelict Turner Brothers factory, but it’s what lurks within that's causing fear and intrigue.

What was once the world’s largest asbestos factory, employing thousands of Rochdalians, is now a shabby ruin. Part of the Turner & Newall (T&N) company, the factory was a pioneer in weaving asbestos fibres into cloth and grew into the world's biggest asbestos manufacturer.

There are still dangers within the site, so the numerous break-ins over summer have alarmed locals.
