SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Although moisture is slowly increasing across the area, drier air continues to remain in control over the Suncoast. This is keeping us drier than normal for a usual September day, although temperatures remain pretty close to average.
Most areas will stay dry today, though there’s just enough moisture spark an isolated shower or two.
As the week goes on, the pattern sets up a clear north-south boundary between drier air and air that is primed to produce showers. We are just on the southern edge of the border, and therefore on the moist side that will bring a few showers. As the week goes on and moisture increases, our rain chances will also slowly rise. However, to the north, the drier air will bring much less rain and slightly cooler weather.
