City councilors who voted to direct an additional $1 million to the short-staffed Boston Police Crime Lab in a prior budget season were left fuming Monday after being told that the lab never received the money.
Councilor Ed Flynn, who led the charge for additional funding last year to help the crime lab meet state-mandated 30-day testing deadlines for sexual assault kits, was informed that his efforts were in vain during a City Council committee hearing focused on discussing resources for the laboratory.
