Donald Trump had no idea who slain Minnesota Democratic State Representative Melissa Hortman was when asked by a reporter why he didn’t order flags lowered to half-mast after her assassination in June.

The question came as Trump and other Republicans have come under fire for demanding nationwide mourning for murdered right-wing podcaster Charlie Kirk, but had almost no response to the murder of Hortman, the Minnesota Speaker of the House, along with her husband in their home by a Trump supporter, in what Governor Tim Walz called a "politically motivated" assassination.
