ATLANTA, Ga. (WSAV) - Former Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan announced Tuesday morning that he is entering the upcoming race for Governor of Georgia.
Duncan's announcement, in which he said Republicans pushed him out of their party, was posted on Tuesday morning via YouTube.
The newest candidate says he will focus on lowering child care costs, expanding Medicaid and affordable housing.
Duncan says he will be running in the election as a Democrat and if elected, he would be Georgia's first Democratic Governor in nearly three decades. The former Lt. Governor will now face the field of Keisha Lance Bottoms, Jason Esteves, Michael Thurmond, Derrick Jackson and Olu Brown for the Democratic nomination.
