Sky is set to cut approximately 600 roles across the UK, as it looks to streamline its technology division in the wake of launching new streaming services.

The company has initiated consultations that could impact around 900 staff members.

The anticipated job losses will predominantly affect employees at Sky's sites in Leeds, and Osterley and in Livingston here in Scotland.

Following substantial investment in TV platforms, broadband, and mobile services, Sky is now shifting focus towards enhancing its current offerings, reports Bristol Live .

A Sky spokeswoman commented: "Over the past few years, Sky has launched a set of market-leading products including Sky Glass, Sky Stream and our full fibre broadband service."
