Proposals to transform a vacant ground floor commercial property into a reformer Pilates studio in Glasgow’s southside has been submitted to the planning department.

Emma Rae, Victoria Rae and Katie Weir, who have lived in Shawlands for more than ten years, want to operate the exercise studio at 177 to 179 Kilmarnock Road.

Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates exercise performed on a specialised machine called a Reformer, which uses springs, pulleys, and a sliding carriage to provide adjustable resistance and support.

It creates a full-body workout that enhances strength, flexibility, balance, and posture by engaging deep core muscles and requiring controlled, precise movements.

Their agent Planning By Design states that the site is made up of an empty ground floor commercial unit
