Andrew Lincoln returned to British television in the new ITV thriller Coldwater , but his performance left some viewers feeling "uncomfortable."

The 52-year-old actor, best known for his decade-long portrayal of Rick Grimes in AMC's The Walking Dead, is now taking on a new role in Coldwater and appearing in a West End play alongside Alicia Vikander.

Coldwater centres around John, played by Andrew , who relocates his family to the fictional town of Coldwater after witnessing an attack in London. Once settled, John befriends his next-door neighbour Tommy (Ewen Bremner), who harbours dark secrets.

Over the course of six episodes, John's fascination with Tommy leads to dangerous truths being revealed and his suppressed anger reaching a boiling point.
