Robert Redford, a titan of Hollywood, has died at age 89.

His publicist, Cindi Berger, told BBC News he died at home "at Sundance in the mountains of Utah — the place he loved, surrounded by those he loved."

"He will be missed greatly," Berger said. She added that his family had requested privacy.

Redford's decadeslong career spanned films including "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid" and founding the Sundance Film Festival.
