INDIANAPOLIS -- A 16-year-old was arrested in Carmel in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on the south side of Indianapolis in late July.
According to previous reports, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched to a reported crash in the 400 block of Griffin Road in the early morning hours of July 25.
When officers arrived, they found that the driver of the vehicle, later identified as 20-year-old Edier Hernandez-Rivera, had been shot. Hernandez-Rivera was taken to a local hospital and was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.
An update from IMPD on Tuesday said that at the crime scene, multiple shell casings were reportedly scattered on the ground. When homicide detectives responded, they worked to identify evidence, search the area for
