Central Dauphin East High School evacuated after smoke was found in the building

Central Dauphin East High School was evacuated early Tuesday morning after smoke was reported in the building.

Firefighters were dispatched at 6:54 a.m. and remain at the high school on Rutherford Road, off Union Deposit Road, as of this publication.

Students were evacuated before fire crews arrived, according to Dauphin County dispatch.

Firefighters are still investigating the source of the smoke and were checking HVAC units on the building’s roof just after 7 a.m., according to dispatch.

There was no immediate evidence of a fire.
