SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) - An A-7 Corsair, a subsonic aircraft put into service during the 1960s, is being transported to Siouxland Freedom Park today.
Between 12 and 1 p.m. Tuesday, a US Army helicopter is expected to airlift the Corsair into the South Sioux City, Nebraska, park.
KTIV plans to cover the aircraft’s transportation to the park. Once our coverage begins, it’ll be available in the video player above.
Back in May 2025, the historic military aircraft was moved from its longtime home at Martin Airfield in South Sioux City to a paint facility at the 185th Air Refueling Wing for restoration.
Two Chinook helicopters piloted by the Iowa Army National Guard gently lifted the aircraft from its home of over two decades and carried it six miles over Sioux City to the 185th ARW.
