HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - On this date in 2010, a powerful tornado outbreak struck Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, producing 17 confirmed tornadoes during the evening hours.
The most severe was an EF3 tornado in Wood and Wirt Counties, WV, which caused one fatality and significant damage to homes and businesses.
In Ohio, tornadoes ranging from EF0 to EF2 hit Perry, Morgan, Meigs, and Athens Counties, downing trees and damaging structures.
Kentucky experienced weaker tornadoes and severe thunderstorms on one bad day for our whole region.
