Mayor LaToya Cantrell on Tuesday asked a judge for permission to take a weeklong vacation in Iceland as her federal corruption case plays out.
Cantrell to make the seven-day trip in October after a federal magistrate judge barred the mayor last week from traveling internationally while her federal corruption case plays out, unless she receives court permission.
Cantrell will make the trip with members of her family from Oct. 7 to Oct. 13, according to a court filing. The filing said said Cantrell's pretrial services officer and the U.S. Attorney's Office raised no objections over the trip.
