TROY, MI – The victim in a fatal crash was likely driving more than 130 miles per hour, police said.

According to Fox 2 in Detroit , the Troy Police Department responded to southbound I-75 near the Rochester Road exit just after midnight on Tuesday.

Police say the force of the crash caused pieces of the vehicle to scatter across the scene.

“It appears at this time, one car left the freeway at a high rate of speed, overturned. It led to one fatality,” Jake Schearer of the Troy Police Department told the TV station. “Just slow down. It’s not worth it.”

The driver has not been identified by name. An investigation is underway.
