VICKSBURG, Miss. (WLBT) - A man was found hanging on Monday in Vicksburg, according to police.

Around 1:30 p.m., officers with the Vicksburg Police Department received the call.

When they arrived, Cory Zukatis, a white male and Brandon resident, was hanging in a wooded area on the 4100 block of Washington Street. The scene appears to be near the Ameristar Casino.

Vicksburg Police are currently investigating the incident and said the incident is not related to the death at Delta State University.

Monday morning, Delta State student Demartravion “Trey” Reed was found hanging from a tree near the central campus’ pickleball courts.

Delta State’s Director of Public Safety Mike Peeler said there was no evidence of foul play in the incident.
