WILMINGTON, Del. (WPHL) -- An infant is dead, a girl is hurt, and two adults are injured after the driver allegedly fled a vehicle stop early Tuesday morning.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, just after 1:15 a.m., police conducted a vehicle stop on I-95, since the driver, a 33-year-old man, was "known to be wanted for various offenses."

Police said that as officers approached the vehicle, the man sped away and took the Marsh Road exit, continued to Marsh & Edgemoor Roads, and crashed.

There were four people inside the car at the time of the crash. The driver is hospitalized in critical condition. A 4-month-old boy, who was not restrained, was taken to the hospital, where he later died. A 32-year-old woman and a 10-year-old girl are reported to be in stable condition.
