BIDDEFORD, Maine — A Cornish man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities said he made threatening comments about the University of New England and investigators later found bomb-making materials at his home.
Maine State Police troopers, working with Biddeford police, investigated a report Monday morning of concerning comments made at a Cornish restaurant, the Maine Department of Public Safety said in a press release. The remarks referenced potential threats directed at UNE’s Biddeford campus, according to the release.
Troopers identified the suspect as Blake Tibbetts, 24, of Cornish. He was detained, evaluated at a local hospital, and later taken to the York County Jail, officials said.
