PORTLAND, Maine — A Westbrook man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court for distributing cocaine and crack cocaine.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Torresen sentenced 35-year-old Francis Mezan, also known as “Frenchie,” to 27 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Mezan pleaded guilty on April 8.

According to court records, an FBI informant bought cocaine and crack cocaine from Mezan on three separate occasions between July 18 and Sept. 5, 2024. The transactions were monitored and recorded by investigators.

The FBI led the investigation with help from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Portland Police Department.
