DALLA, TX (WFSB) - The accolades keep piling up for former University of Connecticut superstar Paige Bueckers.

The WNBA announced on Tuesday that Bueckers was its 2025 Kia Rookie of the Year.

She earned the Associated Press ’s ROTY honors over the weekend.

The WNBA said Bueckers led the Dallas Wings as one of the most dynamic rookies the league had ever seen.

“From the moment she touched the floor, Paige’s game spoke for itself ,” the league posted to social media. “Buckets in rhythm, playmaking with flair, and a calm command beyond her years.”

She averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Bueckers was selected first overall in the 2025 WNBA draft.

The selection came after she helped UConn secure its 12th NCAA National Championship .
