HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Law enforcement officers will no longer be allowed to wear masks inside Connecticut state courthouses unless medically necessary, following a new policy announced by state officials.
The move comes in direct response to a recent incident involving ICE agents who entered the Stamford courthouse wearing masks, sparking protests, multiple arrests, and property damage.
Gov. Ned Lamont, Chief Justice Raheem Mullins, and the chair of the Judiciary Committee announced the policy on Tuesday, emphasizing the importance of transparency and public trust in the justice system.
